If you love nature then you can visit one of the 32 sanctuaries, 2 National Parks and 3 Game Reserves. Here you can see the different species of deer, birds, leopards etc. Also at Potter's Hill you will see a great diversity of flora and fauna. You can tent here or go horse riding. If you want to see the colours and culture of Shimla you should visit the numerous fairs and festivals here.
Fairs like Lavi Fair, Summer Festival, Mahasu Jattar, Rohru Fair Pathar-Ka-Khel, Halog, Winter Sports Festival, Sipi Fair and Bharara Fair. The Summer Festival is held every May at Shimla. It is held on the famous ridge ground. Here you can see the performances of local folks, cultural programs by school children, performances by famous personalities etc.
During winter go for ice-skating at the Winter Sports Festival. Shimla has Asia's only natural ice skating rink which is always full with skaters from early December till February. Every evening there are also fancy dress carnivals, ice hockey and dances.
Shimla Tourism also consists of Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh and Christian pilgrimage places.
