Visit the magnificent and grand Viceregal Lodge, the erstwhile lodge of the British Viceroys. It was built in 1888 and has spacious gardens lined with pine trees. It now houses the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies. This is also one of the famous Tourist Attractions in Shimla. Take a trip to the township of Summer Hill which is 5 kms from the Ridge. Here Mahatma Gandhi stayed during his visits amid the peaceful and calm surroundings. If you want to have a picnic, play a game of cricket or polo then visit Annandale. It is 2 kms from the Ridge at a height of 6117 feet.
