There are many temples in Rajasthan however; the Dilwara Temples are very much famous. These Jain temples, Dilwara temples, India are located about 2 and half kilometers from Mount Abu in Rajasthan state. These Dilwara temples date back to the eleventh to the thirteenth century. The idols are made from marble which look stunning thus is world famous. These five legendry marble temples of the great Dilwara are the sacred pilgrimage of the Jains. The idols are amazingly stunning in spite of their elegant look. There is simplicity in the architecture in spite look great. These temples are resided between the mango trees and the wooded hills. There are many Jain temples in Rajasthan however; none of the other temples are as architecturally great.

Jain Temples

These five temples all have their unique identity though together they are named after the small village where they are located. These five temples are Vimal Vasahi, Luna Vasahi, Pithalhar, Khartar Vasahi, and Mahaveer Swami. From all these temples, the Vimal Vasahi and Luna Vasahi temple are the most famous ones. The Vimal Vasahi temple dates back in 1021 A.D. built by Vimal Shah completely out of white marbles. The architecture is very beautiful and is worth visiting. The temple has installed the idol of Adi Nath or Lord Rishabdev. The Luna Vasahi, Shri Nemi Nathji temple, is dedicated to the 22 nd Tirthankar. This magnificent temple was built back in about 1230 A.D. by two brothers Vastupal and Tejpal. The circular hall has 72 figures of the Tirthankaras are arranged in sitting posture and just below are 360 small figures of the Jain monks in another band. The remaining other three temples are as elegant as however are smaller. Pittalhar temple was built by Bhima Shah with a massive metal statue of Rishabh Dev which is casted in five metals. The main metal used building the idol is Pital, brass, and hence known as the Pittalhar temple. The Parshvanath temple is dedicated to Lord Parshvanath which was built by Mandlik. This temple consists of three floors and is the tallest of all the shrines at Dilwara Temples, India. The walls are comprised of beautiful sculptures. The Mahaveer Swami temple was built at around 1582 A.D. dedicated to 24th Jain Tirthankar. There are beautiful pictures on the upper walls of the porch.

Reaching Dilwara Temples, India is very easy. The road, rail, and air ways are very much easy to reach. Mount Abu is the very beautiful place and these beautiful temples add to the beauty of the place.
