established the Central Theatre. With the establishment of this theatre, R Subbiah
got further involved with the world of films and also dabbled with production
and distribution of films. He also became involved in the newsprint business.
This association brought him the acclaim he was looking for. However, having
built one theatre, he was still anxious to set up another one. This dream however,
did not materialize until the year 1967. That was when he finally established
the Ajanta Theatre in Trivandrum.
Since the Ajanta Theatre of Trivandrum was R. Subbiah's dream venture, he took
utmost care to do the details of the Ajanta Theatre in Trivandrum. The Ajanta

it to be. In fact, since, he did not survive long after to savor the realization
