The Neyyar Dam in Trivandrum was established way back in 1958 and inhabits the basins of the three main rivers namely Neyyar, Mullayar and Kallar. The Neyyar Dam is a part of the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary which is a home to several animal species like elephants, wild buffaloes, wild boar, porcupines, tigers and snakes.
