Surfing is a popular sport in Bali and can be done anytime. Surfing was introduced
in Bali by Australian surfers at the end of 1960's. Since then, Bali has gained
huge popularity amongst surfers from around the world.
The various beautiful beaches further enhance surfing in Bali. Perfect wave
to ride is mostly available in some or the other part of this island.
Locations like Kuta and Sanur offer outstanding reef breaks. Moreover, Sanur
reef is a real pleasure as it is a tube-forming wave that carries you back to
the seashore and you don't need to paddle unnecessarily. Kuta, Ulawatu and Nusa
Dua are recognized for their magnificent surfing waves.
Tourists coming to Bali are usually seen with their surfboards every morning
on the Bali Beaches. Even the local Balinese people enjoy surfing very much.
Some of them have even mastered the art of controlling waves and penetrating
tubes.
