The Indonesian island Bali is a paradise on earth and a thriving tourist location
in the country. Sightseeing in Bali is an exiting activity in itself. In addition
to that, the interesting Tourist Attractions in Bali make the trip of the visitors
to this land even more worthwhile. One such significant tourist attraction is
the Kerta Gosa in Bali.
Approximately 2 hours away from Kuta, Bali's Kerta Gosa stands on the main
street of the heart of Klungkung, quite close to east Bali. This historical
building constructed in the 1710 is a preserved complex of the Hall of Justice.
The King of Klungkung punished the criminals in this Hall of Justice right from
the 17th century. A former guards' house, the Taman Gili or Garden Pavilion
stands on the premises of the Kerta Gosa in Bali in Indonesia.
The style of paintings on the ceilings of the Kerta Gosa in Bali reflect the
Kamasan or the wayang. The appearance of the paintings are puppet like and the
exquisite art offers a depiction of good versus evil. These paintings also reflect
the gruesome consequences that the sinners went through. The art also narrates
the story of Bima Swarga who went to hell to search and save the souls of his
parents. The panels of Taman Gili also reflect the chronicle of Sutasoma slaying
a dragon, horoscopes pictographs and a wedding.
The Kerta Gosa in Bali is certainly one of the finest attractions of the city
and is open from 7 in the morning to 5.30 in the evening for the tourists to
visit.
