Tanah Lot in Bali

Indonesia - Jakarta - Lombok - Semarang - Solo - Yogyakarta - Bali
Tanah Lot in Bali is an incredible temple that is suspended on a rocky protrusion at the sea's edge. It can be an ideal place among the other temples in Bali in Indonesia for the purpose of Sightseeing in Bali. It is regarded as one of the most sacred temple in the whole of Bali.

The intricate architecture of the building of Tanah Lot, with its lonely black towers and bunch of foliage spilling over the cliffs, reminds one of the elegance of a Chinese painting. It is said that inside one of the shrines at Tanah Lot in Bali, there dwells a huge snake that is prudently left untouched by the Balinese.

Even though it is a small sanctuary, Tanah Lot in Bali is connected to a sequence of sea temples placed on the south coast of the island of Bali. The moorland temples idolize deities that are associated with mountains and mountain lakes, while the sea temples pay homage to the sentinel spirits of the sea.

The Temple of Tanah Lot was first built in the 15th century by the priest, Pedanda Bahu Rawuh or Danghyang Nirartha from Majapahit Jawa.

Tanah Lot is placed at a distance of 13 km from Tabanan in Beraban village. The people can walk to the temple when the tide is low. The building of Tanah Lot seems to be floating if the tide is high. The temple is situated 16 kilometers west of the International Airport of Ngurah Rai and takes a short time of only 20 minutes by driving through Sunset Road.
