The tourist visa is however valid, for a maximum period of two months (previously) extendable and you have to leave the country after the time span of your visa expires. You can only reenter Indonesia after you have successfully attested another stamp to your passport. Again, if there is any discrepancy in your passport, your visa will not be issued and you may have to face legal procedure, which is considered to be a crime in Indonesia.
According to the Presidential Decision No. 18 dated March 2003, the maximum validity of Tourist visa should not be more than one month. This has in deed been implemented from the 1st of February and is applicable to 21 countries across the globe.
Besides, there are also other visas like the Social Visa, The Business Visa, Residency of works visa, Retirement Visa, and the Overstaying of your visa.
The Social visa is meant for social, cultural, religious and medical purposes. You can visit with your family, friends or social organizations. This visa is valid for 60 days, but can be extendable on a monthly basis for a total period of 6 months.
The Business visa is valid for 60 days. It can be extended on a monthly basis for full one year. You can temporary business assignment under this visa.
For the Residency Works visa, you need the sponsorship of an Indonesian Company. Besides, it is very expensive and is strictly valid for business deals only.
The Retirement visa is meant for people who are above 55 years of age. Initially it is valid for 5 years, but after that, one can apply for permanent citizenship.
