Prince Fatahillah founded the city Jakarta in the 16th century, and named it

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is located in the southeast of Jakarta and this
famous park was conceived in 1971 by Mme Tien Soeharto. This fantastic park
is spread on a 250-acre land and it came into existence from 1975. It displays
27 full-scale houses which marks the various aspects of regional handicrafts
and clothing of Indonesia.
Bogor was an important Dutch hill station during the colonial times and the
exotic botanical garden forms one of the primary attractions. This garden is
the home of over 15,000 species of trees and plants, including 400 palm species
and, 3000 orchid varieties.
The Cibodas Mountain garden scattered over an area of 200 acres was founded
in 1862 primarily for the purpose of studying mountain flora and fauna.
Located in Slipi, Jakarta the Orchid garden is a commercial garden which has
a wonderful collection of most exotic orchid species, including the black-orchid
(bualagna pandurata).
