Reaching Lombok:

The best way to reach Lombok is by air. There are several flights to Indonesia, in fact to reach Lombok land in Jakarta or Bali and then take another flight to reach this island. General Information

The local Lombok population is practicing Muslims. But they also practice animism. Lombok has a typical Equatorial climate, summer is high on heat and humidity, winter has milder days and nights. The weather breaks in October and the rains continue till January. Be prepared for "Bali Belly", that is, be careful of what you eat and drink. Do not take untreated water or cut fruits from roadside, most hotels provide boiled water. Cut on spicy food if you feel that it will be too tough on your stomach. Keep general medicines with you and since recently some ugly incidents of tourists and locals getting into a clash had occurred, steer clear of any controversy and maintain propriety regarding dress or comments.
