Solo is a major city in central Java, Indonesia. Together with Yogyakarta, these two cities are heirs of the Mataram kingdom which was split in 1755. Sahasra's Ashi Pura in Solo also features the Argo which is a small temple complex in itself which is enclosed within. Scaled replicas of fifty sacred sites from all around the world are brought together in order to preserve this ancient wisdom for future generations. The name 'Argo' comes from the star constellation Argo which is named from the legendary Greek ship of the Argonauts, vessel of the Golden Fleece. The Argo at the Sahasra temple primarily functions to connect with the spiritual heritage of many ages of man, which is believed to have been lost.
