Yogyakarta is a major tourist destination in Indonesia and is visited by people from all over the world. Getting into Yogyakarta by Air:
The Adisucipto International Airport in Yogyakarta serves both domestic and international flights. There are flights connecting t Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Sumarta. The only international service available is Garuda's thrice-weekly direct services to Singapore and Kuala Lampur. The Airport provides plenty of amenities like ATM booths, tourist information desks. Also there is a taxi stand right outside the Airport Gate. After you reach Yogyakarta by air, you can either take taxi or bus to your specific destination. The Airport, though small, is of immense help to the tourists. It has undergone a massive refurbishment in 2005.


Getting into Yoigyakarta by Bus:
The major bus stop of Yogyakarta is Giwangan. This bus terminus is located 4kms southeast from the center of Yogyakarta. There are regular services provided by the buses throughout the island, including Jakarta, Surabaya and Badung. The journeys take 9 hours, 8 hours and 6 hours respectively.


Getting in Yogyakarta by Train:
The main Yogyakarta train station is called the Tugu Station. There are regular trains running from Yogyakarta to Jakarta. The Agro Class trains and the Taksaka are the one providing the service. The former is, however, considered to be the best both in terms of speed and comfort. Other trains include the Sancaka and Prambanan Express that carry passengers from Surabaya and Solo respectively. The trains allow you a beautiful view of the lush green fields and mountains during the daytime that will really leave you mesmerized. Some of these trains also provide you with lunch during your journey.
