Museum Kekayon Yogyakarta

The Museum Kekayon, Yogyakarta describes the entire history of the Indonesian nation and also the puppet history. It was founded by Soedjono Prawirohadikusumo by 23rd July 1990. He was a doctor famous for treating mentally challenged people. He believed that it was the art of these leather puppets could lead to some amount of understanding of manners and knowledge and these can in turn be passed on to the future generations.

This describes the victory of Majapahit who was successful in creating unity between all the other Indonesian areas including the modern Thailand and Malaysia.

The next historical scene in the history of Indonesia is the advent of Islam. This is symbolized by the Kudus Tower. There is also the Pancuran Bidadari complex at the left corner. This symbolizes the advent of the Dutch in the Indonesian scenario and the influence that had on the lives of the native people. The Dutch had colonized Indonesia for a prolonged period of 350 years and the complexes reflect the events that had taken place in the 16th Century.
