The Museum Sonobudoyo, Yogyakarta is a Javanese style that is located in the North Square. It was built by the Java Institute and the museum is famous for the rich and fascinating collections of the Javanese artistic heritage. It also includes the fascinating displays of the various old books, the arts, literature, the batik, wayang, keris, masks, and some statues. The museum was founded in the year 1935 and the Dutch architect Kersten designed the entire structure. The exhibits of the Museum Sonobudoyo, Yogyakarta are the wooden puppets of wayang theatre, weapons, statues, old Javanese gamelan Instruments, leather masks, textiles and curios. There are also other items that are on display and these are the various other paraphernalia that bear ample evidence of the local lifestyle.
