Celebrated on the Sunday before Easter, Palm Sunday in Jerusalem is a moveable feast in the Christian calendar. As the first day of Holy Week, Palm Sunday in Jerusalem commemorates Jesus' triumphal procession into Jerusalem and in this procession the people of Jerusalem waving palm branches and clothing before Him and announcing Him as the messianic king.
