The religious city of Jerusalem seems to have every element in the city related
somehow to religion. The Garden Tomb in Jerusalem is another example of the incident.
The beautiful city of Jerusalem is punctuated with splendid gardens which add
to the beauty of the place. Most of the gardens in the city carry a legacy of
rich historical past making them even more interesting. These landscapes of Jerusalem
have helped in the development of tourism in the city as tourists are attracted
in large numbers. The Garden Tomb in Jerusalem itself has become a prominent
feature in the tourism map of the city for its immaculate beauty and importance
from the pages of history. The Garden Tomb in Jerusalem is considered as a garden
and the grave of Joseph of Arimathea as well. Therefore the garden is considered
to be a possible site for resurrection of Jesus as well. Presently the garden
is owned by The Garden Tomb (Jerusalem) Association which is a charitable trust
based in the United Kingdom and also takes care of the maintenance of the garden
as well.
The Garden Tomb in Jerusalem is a secluded place for worship and reflection.
One can find places to sit to relax, drinking water facilities, toilets and
other facilities for the convenience of the tourists. The garden has special
provisions for the handicapped with the wheel-chair access which is a good option
for a tour round the garden. One can enjoy a bit of shopping too at the well
stocked gift shop at a very reasonable price.
The garden is located near the famous Damascus gate of the Old city. One has
to cross the main street and walk up to Nablus Road where the garden is located
on the Conrad Schick Street. Locating the garden is not a difficult task as
clear sign posting makes it easier for the tourists.
