The food in this restaurant is a sheer delight. It has a small menu of simple home made Israeli food but all of them are favorites of not only the locals but also the tourists. The restaurant was opened by a Bulgarian immigrant, Albert Mager 50 years ago and today it is still going strong. Over the years it has accumulated quite an impressive clientele of various politicians and other notable people of Jerusalem.
In Taami Restaurant, Jerusalem you will get the best Chumous in the city. Apart from that the creamy, rich hummus topped with hot chickpeas, parsley and olive oil is another hot favorite of every one. Other dishes on the menu are Meatballs in gravy, vine leaves, moussaka, stuffed eggplant and bean soup. Those who prefer a whole meal can opt for the Shishlik kebab (lamb on a skewer) and chopped beef liver. However keeping within the Jewish guidelines and laws, pork and shellfish are left out of the menu.
The Taami Restaurant, Jerusalem has a relaxed atmosphere with all the local
workers and families frequenting the restaurant. With its low priced menu, you
will always find quite a crowd in the restaurant premises. It is the perfect
place for you to have a working lunch. The restaurant however is open only for
lunch and remains closed on Friday afternoon and Saturday.
