Beth Hatefutsot Israel is also known as the Museum of Jewish Diaspora. It is located in Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv is a cosmopolitan city having various museums,parks ,and other places of interest. The museum is located in the University of Tel Aviv and is one of the famous museums in Israel. The museum is counted as one of the innovative museums of the world. Beth Hatefutsot Israel was established in the year 1978 by Dr. Nahum Goldmann. He was the founder and the president of the World Jewish Congress. The idea to open this museum came to Dr. Nahum Goldmann and the finalizing of the new concept was done by Poet Abba Kovner . The museum depicts the struggle of the Jewish community and their culture. This museum will help the coming Jewish generations to know about the Jewish past. Poet Abba Kovner distributed the displays of the museum into six thematic parts. The museum was first opened to the public in the year 1978 and it got a tremendous reception from the Jewish community. The museum's first director was Jesaja Weinberg. Located inside the campus of the Tel Aviv University, Beth Hatefutsot Israel serves as an education and communication center for the Jewish community in particular. Those who want to know about the history of the Jews can come to this place and absorb the details. The use of modern techniques and audio-video display equipments help in quick learning. There are six permanent exhibitions in this museum. The permanent exhibits are in a separate floor with a large study area. They can be categorized as: - The Gate of The Family - the gate of The Community - The gate of culture - The gate of Faith - the Gate of Return to Zion - the renovated chronosphere - Among the nations - Memorial columns The museum is opened on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from ten in the morning till four in the evening. On Wednesdays and Fridays there is a slight change of time. The museum today has influenced many generations of Jews and touches the life of the Jews residing all parts of the world.
