International Tiberias Marathon in Tel Aviv

International Tiberias Marathon is actually a venture of the Israeli Athletic Association and the Tiberias Municipality who had been arranging the event for the past three decades. The marathon has now become an event which draws participants from across the country and abroad. The marathon is indeed an enjoyable affair as the course itself is enjoyable with the picturesque scenes which fringe its sides. International Tiberias Marathon happens along a 12 kilometer course which stretches from a main street in Tiberias from where the runners run for a distance to turn at Kibbutz Ein Gev to head back to the Sheraton Moriah Plaza Hotel in the city. The track follows a beautiful path along the shores of the Sea of Galilee to give the runners some of the most exquisite vistas. International Tiberias Marathon crisscrosses across the city, taking the runners down the historic Jordan Valley. Fragments of an idyllic life accompany the runners as the course cuts across a charming countryside to give the participants a different experience. With an enjoyable landscape and a comfortable weather, the race promises an activity steeped in pleasure and excitement.
The International Tiberias Marathon is attended each year by an overwhelming number of participants from across the globe. It is easy for the participants from the other countries to share the excitement as one can apply for the race online as well. The ones who make it to the finishing line are recognized by the organizers with a medal and a certificate, while the first three runners in each group are awarded with a special trophy. The fastest runners are credited with the title of a National Champion. The International Tiberias Marathon is the only full marathon taking place in Israel, and thus is an event for which the country looks forward to. The event naturally receives an elaborate attention, providing the runners with a number of facilities like emergency help, or water stalls along the track.
