Llana Goor Museum in Tel Aviv

Located in a building which at one point of time in the distant past provided a roof above the heads of the pilgrims heading towards Jerusalem, Llana Goor Museum in Tel Aviv now displays artistic expressions of Llana Goor and works of others artists which were once a part of Goor’s collection.

Llana Goor has achieved worldwide renown for a sculpture and a designer of the highest class. Llana Goor Museum is entirely Goor’s creation. Everything in the museum, from the arrangement of the exhibits to the layout of the rooms has a stamp of Goor’s presence. In setting up the Museum, Goor was ably supported by her husband Leonard Lowengrub.

Initially a private dwelling of Llana Goor, the Museum was made public in 1995 and since then it has received over 200,000 visitors. The idyllic location of the Llana Goor near the sea and the it timeless architecture are in perfect consonance with the premise of Llana Goor’s art work which works on the dynamics of ‘old and new’. The 250 year old building of Llana Goor Museum of Tel Aviv has undergone several changes to meet Gur’s satisfaction. The building now has attractive archways and internal vaulting, with excellent use of light.

The works on display in Llana Goor’s Museum include sculptures, furniture chiseled out of wood or shaped out of bronze, iron and glass. Llana Goor Museum’s uniqueness lies in the fact that the visitors can touch the exhibits freely and thereby interact with them. Some of the sections in Llana Goor Museum include rooms with the names like the Mystery of Africa, the Persian Rug Chamber, the Knights Hall Chamber, the Memory Room and many more.

Llana Goor Museum also has a shop which allows the visitors to buy the works of Llana Goor. The Shop has Goor’s sculptures, jewelry, furniture and many more.
