Shalom Aleichem was born in 1859 in a poor Jewish family. He started writing from the age of 15. His first work was a translation of the famous novel Robinson Crusoe in the Jewish language. From an early age he dedicated himself to Jewish writing. He married his student Olga Loev in the year May 12 ,1883 and had six children.
At first ,Shalom Aleichem wrote in the Russian and the Hebrew language. But after 1883 he started writing in Yiddish language and soon became a known writer of this language. During his carrer span he produced some famous work in the yiddish language. He died in the year 1916 in New york. He was working on his novel at that time.
