This salt water pool is demarcated by lush lawns, which offer a beautiful view of the valley. The Gordon Swimming pool has kept the Tel Aviv Municipality interested for wrong reasons. The municipality wants to bring down the swimming pool. One of the reasons for Gordon Beach’s popularity is that no other beach in Tel Aviv is close to Gordon Beac in terms of cleanliness. Besides, the beach is also regarded as safe with few incidents of misdemeanor or drowning recorded. Gordon Beach is as popular with the locals as it is with the tourists. Sun bathing and visiting beaches is not a popular preoccupation of the locals. Though the youth, sundered from cultures of the past have taken to the beach culture with great alacrity.
