Katzrin in Golan Heights is the largest town of the place and also the administrative center of Golan Heights. The place offers some magnificent views of the surrounding landscapes which includes Mount Hermon in the north, the hills of the Galilee in the west and the Kinneret in the south. Katzrin was planned in such a way so that it could be an urban center which would provide various aids and facilities to the rural localities and the military base camps dispersed all over Golan Heights.
Katzrin in Golan Heights is an important tourism center because of the number of historical sites present in the town. Among these sites one is the remote Talmudic village of Kisrin. The village was destroyed some 1300 years ago due to an earthquake. While visiting the archaeological remains of the village the visitors will come across a synagogue which is partly reconstructed and can also see the foundations of the old buildings. Katzrin in Golan Heights also has a museum called the Museum of Golan Antiques which displays all the archaeological finds discovered in Golan. The Golan Heights winery, an important winery of Israel is located in Katzrin. Moreover there is also a mineral water plant established in the town. The visitors can visit these factories along with the factories producing fruits and oil products. Katzrin in Golan Heights also has two open air strip malls where tourists must surely drop in and look around the things available. One of the malls also organize for a 3D movie and presents a model depicting the history and geography of Golan Heights.
