Geography of Fukuoka

Fukuoka in Japan is generally recognized as the oldest city in the country and it is the capital city of Fukuoka Prefecture on Kyushu Island. This Prefecture contains the provinces of Chikugo, Chikuzen and Buzen. The geography of Fukuoka is very interesting, as it has the blue sea on its three sides. It also borders Saga, Oita and Kumamoto Prefectures and faces Yamaguchi Prefecture across Kanmon Strait. This Prefecture has many of the islands industries and has two largest cities, one is Fakuoka and another is Kitakyushu.

From the geography of Fukuoka, we find that the Prefecture has pretty mild weather, though the humidity is quite high, around 76%, the heat is never oppressive. With clear visibility and moderate wind, this place is a very pleasant place to live in. Fukuoka has four distinct seasons with their own temperatires and precipitation. As regards the physical geography of Fukuoka, it has a port, important airport, railway terminal and one of the most prosperous cities in the world. There are some industries of note, here you will find industries manufacturing computer components, textiles and fishing equipment. Economically the area is extremely thriving and several local small scale industries have made their mark. The port is busy and thriving opening up a new world for the residents.
