The Fukuoka Art Museum in Japan was ushered in 1979 autumn. Located in the Ohori-Koen Park this museum boasts of a beautiful surrounding and lush greenery and is also known as a great place for outings and relaxations. This museum is known to house a huge collection of oriental, pre-modern and contemporary art works.

The exhibition galleries of Art Museum of Fukuoka are categories as, Art gallery for 20th century both of Japan and other countries, a gallery for minor art works like prints and drawings and third for the Japanese style paintings and crafts gallery. Besides of these three main galleries of Fukuoka Art Museum there are other galleries too, named Matsunaga Collection gallery and the Buddhist gallery that represents the Buddhist Art from the Tokoin Temple having sculptures from the Fujiwara period.
