The transport facilities in Fukuoka are availed by a number of people. Transport consists of air, train, bus, taxis and ferries. However for inter connectivity between the islands and cities; only three modes are in constant used. They are the subway, airport and bus service. All the three modes of transport are excellent, economical and availed in large number by the common people.
The Subway and the Train network is the lifeline of the city. Fukuoka enjoys the services of two train companies, the Japan Railways and the Nishitetsu Railway Company and three subway lines.
Apart from the subway, the city's Bus services are worth mentionable. From Fukuoka, both long distances buses as well as buses for short distances are available. Fukuoka is connected to the Kitakyushu and Chikugo regions through the frequent Bus Services.
However the fastest mode of travel is by taking the air route. A remarkable
airport handling both domestic and International flights serves Fukuoka. The
domestic flights connect Fukuoka to Osaka- Kansai, Tokyo-Haneda, Okinawa, Hanamaki,
Tokyo-Narita, Takamatsu, Amakusa, and Fukushima to name some.
