Fukuoka City Museum

Permanent Exhibition Rooms and Special Exhibition Rooms of the City Museum of Fukuoka are generally used for displaying collections. The Permanent Exhibition Rooms of the museum are divided into a comprehensive one and classified ones. Historical Collection, the Kuroda Memorial Room and the cultural artifacts of the city including arts and crafts, archaeology and folk art all comprise the Permanent Exhibition Rooms.
City Museum of Fukuoka also held special exhibitions that are held generally in the Special Exhibition Room located on the 2nd floor of the museum. In addition to the exhibitions organized by this museum, many visiting exhibitions on history and culture organized by various sponsors are also shown in this room on a limited-time basis.
The chief highlight of this museum is the Kim – In (Gold Seal) that was received by the King of Japan from the Chinese Emperor during the Han Dynasty.
For the common public City Museum opens daily for 8 hours, that is from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. In the months of July and August the opening hours are from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm. The entrance fee at Fukuoka City museum for general is Y200while for students it is Y150 and for elementary students admission is free.
