With its scenic locales and fascinating history, Hiroshima is one of the most visited cities of Japan. The pleasant climatic conditions of the city make it even more popular among the tourists. Hiroshima is blessed with a geographical position that not only provides it with wonderful landscapes, but also helps in regulating the climate of the region. Nestled by the inland sea, the coastline of Hiroshima enjoys a temperate weather all round the year. The Chugoku Mountains, which girdle the city in the north, and the Shikoku Mountains which line the west, guard it from the summer and winter storms that usually disturbed the mild climate. Located in the Seto Inland Sea's weather zone, Hiroshima experiences almost the same weather conditions as the rest of Japan. The four seasons are quite obvious here, though the weather never reaches to an extreme. Hiroshima enjoys long sunny days, though June, July and August are humid months with a considerable amount of rainfall. The annual average temperature here is around 15 degree Celsius, though it rises to around 25 degree Celsius in the summer months, and goes down to 6 or 7 degree in the colder months. Hiroshima experiences a moist weather, and the annual average humidity lingers around 73%. The city receives an average rainfall of about 155 mm in a year. The city hosts most of its tourists in the warmer months, as the weather is then perfect for enjoying the coast and the mountains too are the best for hiking and other tourist activities.
