Hiroshima is served by a dense network of buses that connect different parts of the city with a regular bus service. A number of buses run through the city, providing a cheap and convenient mode of transport.

The buses in Hiroshima are operated from the Hiroshima Bus Center in Kamiya-cho, which runs more hundreds of buses in the city. The buses leave from the Hiroshima Bus Terminal, which has been regularly operating the buses from July 1957.

The Hiroshima Bus Center runs a number of intercity express buses like the Hiroshima Airport Limousine bus, Hiroshima Prefecture Internal express bus, and the Suburban bus. A number of local bus routes function to serve as a local transport. The Hiroden Bus, Chugoku JR Bus, Hiroshima Bus, Geiyo Bus, and Hiroshima Kotsu operate frequent buses around the city. The Hiroden buses are some of the most used ones, as they run through sixteen different routes, connecting the most important parts of the city. The suburbs of Hiroshima are also served by as many as 28 bus routes, apart from which there are a number of highway buses as well. The Hiroshima Airport Limousine bus leaves from the Shinkansen entrance of the airport, providing a comfortable mode of transport for the ones traveling to and fro from the airport. A few sightseeing buses are also available from the JR Hiroshima station to take the tourists around the city.
