Hondori Street is the traditional retail heart of Hiroshima City and its main covered shopping avenue. There are countless clothing shops located along the street line. Hondori Street of Hiroshima is also home to Andersen Bakeries, a notable food outlet of the street. Two blocks north on Aiodori are three big department stores: Sogo, Fukuya and Tenmaya.

Hondori Street also has two large malls, Sun Mall and Parco. The Sun Mall hosts HMV and UNIQLO as its anchor tenants and the trendier and fashion oriented Parco has a large showcase Mujirushi on the 7th and 8th floors in the new building. Gap (4F) is located in the new building as well. Here you will find local hipsters and visitors alike and you can look for all the latest fads. You will not find any car traffic out here. Between the two malls under the covered street are plenty of other clothing stores and restaurants.
