When to Go to Hiroshima

Japan - Fukuoka - Kobe - Nagoya - Tokyo - Osaka - Hiroshima - Kyoto - Yokohama -
The city of Hiroshima is rich in nature with its surrounding picturesque mountains that are ever changing with the four seasons and its six rivers that flow through it.

The best time to travel to Hiroshima is in the autumn, probably October. Many people like spring for the cherry blossoms but its unfortunate that many people also overlook the beauty of the Japanese fall. Spring weather can be unpredictable but October is generally quite mild anywhere you go. October can also be preferred because there are usually many festivals around the harvest time in each region. August can be miserably hot and most tourist areas are crowded. It rains too much in June and there are often several typhoons in September,

Although the summers (June-Aug) can be muggy but it's still a nice time to visit Hiroshima. If you're really out to avoid crowds, winter (Dec-Feb) - though very cold - might be just your ticket. Holidays and festivals are celebrated with crowded gusto in Hiroshima, so cherry-blossom season in April and Golden Week (late April/early May) are great times to be in the city. Spring (March/April) and autumn (September/October) are considered particularly good times to travel to Hiroshima. Just as spring in Japan is associated with cherry blossom viewing, autumn is the season for watching the trees turn beautiful shades of red, gold and yellow.
