The port of Kobe in Japan was opened in 1868 in order to encourage overseas trade.
Since then this cosmopolitan city became a cultural hub owing to its cultural
interchanges with the various countries. This beautiful picturesque city flanked
by the sea and mountains has some fashionable destinations where tourists love
to hang out that also includes the Kobe amusement parks.
Especially the sea front of the Kobe port is always crowded with visitors from
Japan and abroad. Hence this place known as the Harbor Land with restaurants,
shops, hotels has emerged as the amusement town and the popular destination
for tourists and young crowds. The center of attraction in this bay area is
the Mosaic Garden, the Kobe amusement park that houses the colossal Ferris wheel
(50 m in diameter) that looks stunning when illuminated during the night. There
are also movie theatres and an open mall within it.
Another amusement park in Kobe is the Portopialand Amusement Park that lies
along the southern border of the Port Island. This amusement park houses many
structures and high supports for rides. There are two good Schwarzkopf coasters
and an enormous Ferris wheel.
The Sumaura Sanjo Amusement Park in Kobe can be reached by a ropeway. The vista
of the cherry blossoms is excellent from the rotating observation deck (246
m above sea level) at the summit of the Hachibuseyama Mountain and Awaji Island.
The Central Park offers a Batman clone and some bizarre rides and the Kurashiki
Tivoli Park has two coasters, a full-sized train that provides fun ride and
cars with Baby Seats!
