Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Kobe
Japan - Fukuoka - Kobe - Nagoya - Tokyo - Osaka - Hiroshima - Kyoto - Yokohama -
Hakutsuru Sake Brewery in Kobe is perhaps one of the best attractions that gives one the feel of a real brewery in function. The museum is not at all like a usual museum. The exhibits are actually put inside an old sake kura. The place smells of straw and old wood. The museum is full of life size models engaged in scrutinizing the mash or whisking the yeast or executing any one of the steps of sake making which are described elaborately.
To make the setting more lively the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery museum plays its suggestive musical recordings on the music system throughout the visiting hours. Another attraction is the screening of an old company promotional short film prepared in the year 1928. There are several kiosks around the museum that has excellent footage of wine preparation of the older times. There are some eight or nine videos continuing for around two minutes each explain each stage of manufacturing process. The video shows how they start by introducing sake rice and finish with suggestions about how to taste it. All the videos shown at Hakutsuru Sake Brewery are available in English and Japanese. Even the pamphlets are available in English and Japanese.
Your tour will come to an end at the tasting room where one can taste the end product of all the hard work that they have witnessed. The Kobe Hakutsuru Sake Brewery is open everyday from nine thirty to four thirty except on Mondays. They do not charge any admission fee.| Hotels in Kobe | |
