Choueke Yashiki is one of the marvelous historic mansion of the Kobe city. The spelling is Choo – eh- ke Mansion. This wonderful building was constructed in the year 1889 and is the only mansion in the entire city which is open to the public inspite of being inhabited. Choueke Yashiki is filled till its beam with memorabilia from every corner of the world. The best part of the house is that the landlady herself , i.e. Mrs Choueke is always there to give you a show of her possessions. The intricate namban wood block prints and the enormous knowledge of Mrs Choueke's about the city of Kobe is simply fantastic. People say that her ijinkan is not to be missed. The cost of entering Choueke Yashiki in Kobe is about five hundred yen and it remains open for the visitors on Mondays and Wednesdays from nine to five. The most important must see of the mansion is the items preserved of the transitional period of twentieth century. Its not that you have to spend one whole day in exploring the mansion, but after having a look at it you can always visit the nearby attractions like the Kobe City Museum.
