Cherry Viewing Tea Ceremony is one of the major activities in the month of April. This event marks the blossoming of the cherry trees. One of the most popular flowers in Japan is Cherry blossoms. Every year during the peak season Cherry trees are in full flourish, but then this period is extremely short. Early April is the ideal time to see the beautiful flower in full bloom and people from all parts of the country rush to have a look at the Cherry trees. Many flower viewing parties are held in Kyoto during this time and people celebrate the blossoming of the Cherry trees. This ceremony is mainly celebrated at Heian Jingu, which is one of the important shrines of Kyoto. Tea Ceremony is another major festival in the month of April. One can see the ancient tea ceremony being performed at Choshintei, which is a tea ceremony house. Here you can also see flower exhibitions and bugaku, which is a form of Japanese court dancing and music.
