Agatha has a full English menu and you can choose a la carte or try a dinner set which include an appetizer, salad and grilled chicken in various forms including the popular chicken with plum sauce. There is also a full drink menu, including draught beer and wines.

Cafe Independants

This is a darkish, subterranean place with occasional live performances catering to a young clientele who enjoy the low prices and underground feel that it projects. The bar is located in the basement the old Mainichi Newspaper building.

The River Oriental

The River Oriental, situated right on the Kamo River, south of Shijo on Kiyamachi, is an impressive new development combining the best of old and new. The stunning three-story construction consists of a complete refurbishment of a traditional Japanese ryokan or inn and the addition of a modern European-style annex. The imaginative menu is inspired by South East Asian cuisine with a distinct Japanese lightness of flavorings.

Eitaroya

Eitaroya is an izakaya, a traditional mix of bar and restaurant where you can drink and order a wide selection of small dishes in a relaxed atmosphere complete with soothing background music.

Itadori

Located in a recently renovated two-story traditional townhouse (machiya), Itadori serves Kyoto cuisine with a modern touch.
