and diners wear everything from denim to silk. The last dinner order is taken

KERALA
Opposite Royal Hotel, on Kawaramachi, north of Sanjo; Tel: 251-0141; Open:
11:30-14:00, 17:00-21:00; serves Indian regional cuisine; specialized in South
Indian dishes including Kerala style shrimp curry, Masala and Kulcha Kerala
stuffed with egg and almond; all dishes prepared by Indian chefs using spices
imported from India.
Didi
On Higashioji Street, a five-minute walk north of Kyoto University, you will
come across this smoke-free eatery. Indian, other Asian and original dishes
are served here.
Garamsala
A long-term favorite with Asian curry lovers, Garamsala offers wholesome curry
based dishes in northeast Kyoto. It is well worth seeking out despite the long
walk from the nearest station.
Nataraj
This is a long-established, atmospheric, and very friendly Indian cafe-restaurant,
with a smart, new look. Nataraj is situated near Ichijoji station in the heart
of studentville in northeastern Kyoto.
Pakistan Curry
Pakistan Curry provides a taste of the sub-continent at reasonable prices, making
it an eatery very popular with nearby office workers and students.
Tranq Room
Located in Kyoto's most popular tourist zone, the Tranq Room doubles as a live
music salon on weekends. Choose from a wide range of drinks, including Neo-Asian
teas, chai, lassi, beer, wine and sake.
Mughal
