Other Italian restaurants in Kyoto are:
Al Matsuo
Al Matsuo is an up market Italian restaurant situated on the east side of the elegant Teramachi shopping street. The secluded and modern dining area is subtly lit and pleasantly furnished. Al Matsuo serves full course Italian cuisine with various pasta dishes as well as meat and fish courses such as roast lamb at JPY1, 700.
La Botte
La Botte boasts an Italian chef proud of his original pizzas and pastas with over sixty dishes on the menu.
La Botte seats sixty inside and there is also an attractive alfresco wooden terrace overlooking the Kamo River, which is extra at JPY400 on weekdays and JPY600 on holidays.
Bocconi
Bocconi is a well-designed, Italian-inspired European-style restaurant. Next door under the same York management is a store selling imported kitchen furniture, utensils, ceramics and whole fitted kitchens. It is placed near Kinkakuji. Papamilano
Located just to the east of the main downtown nexus of Shijo and Karamachi streets, Papamilano is one of a rash of imitations of la dolce vita to spring up in Japan since the early 1990s. The waiters and waitresses are dressed in the requisite brown uniforms.
Tavetarina
Japanese-Italian is a good description of the food at Tavetarina's. It is Mediterranean cuisine adopted and adapted to suit the Japanese palette. So expect a little bit of soy sauce to complement the olive oil.
There are some more Italian restaurants in Kyoto like Viva Viva, Cipolla, Anchovie Cafe and Second House.
