Located in the Karasuma Shichijo Dori-sagaru area, Izusen Restaurant, Kyoto specializes in pure Japanese food items and typical Kyoto cuisine. It is situated amidst the garden of Daiji-in. Good quality Japanese food at reasonable prices is available here. Although the ambience is stark, the dishes are garnished exquisitely before serving. Soups and sauces mixed with fu or wheat gluten and yuba or milk skimming taste simply awesome. You can savor the tempura delight. Typical Kyoto Sake is available here and drinks are also allowed. The restaurant offers Zen cuisine and Kaisaki meals with the accompaniment of Japanese music. After you finish up your meal, you can visit the nearby Daitokuji temple complex. It is a Budhist temple and features a rock garden and other sub temples like Kotoin and Daisenin. The tea ceremony rooms and the Japanese style gardens are worth visiting.
