Nagoya City Science Museum is renowned for housing one of the largest planetariums in Japan. The Museum has some extremely engaging displays on different sections of science. Unlike most museums, Nagoya City Science Museum does not have too many grand displays of boredom in cherished shapes and sizes for young children, there is a life size model train on the third floor and also playing area for the kids on the ninth floor. The exhibitions in Nagoya City Science Museum are divided into separate sections like astronomy, life sciences, physics, chemistry and engineering. The Planetarium in Nagoya City Science Museum shows different programs every month; the Museum's calendar remains busy with special exhibitions throughout the year. Also located in Nagoya City Museum is the Science Hall where lectures by eminent scientists are delivered. The Hall also stages number of concerts and events that hold kinship with science. Nagoya City Museum is located in Shirawaka Park and has the Nagoya City Art Museum as its neighbor. Nagoya City Museum is open from 9.30 am to 5 pm. The Museum remains closed on Mondays and third Friday of every month. The best way to reach Nagoya City Museum is to take a subway till Fushimi subway station.
