Ise, Nagoya is a very popular tourist destination of Japan. It is a holy place for pilgrimage as it houses the most holy Shinto shrine known as the Ise Shrine dedicated to the Goddess Amaterasu. Ise, Nagoya is a city that is situated on the Honshu Island of Japan. It falls in the Mie Prefecture as well. It is very easy to travel to Ise, Nagoya. It can be reached via boat, train and boat as well. The Ise Shrine dates back to thousands of years ago. The official documents states that it goes back all the way to 4 BC. However, there are slight controversies as well regarding the exact year. There are historians who are of the opinion that the shrines were constructed in their present form only during 690 AD. There is another tradition that is prevalent as well. The shrines are disassembled and reconstructed exactly like the original form after every 20 years.
The Ise shrine is a very popular tourist destination of Ise, Nagoya. There
are two shrines. They are Gek, or the Outer Shrine and Naik, or the Inner Shrine.
The Outer Shrine or Gek is smaller then the Inner Shrine or Naik. The Inner
Shrine is dedicated to the Goddess of Sun, Amaterasu-o-mikami. This shrine is
most important of the two shrines present there. The Outer Shrine is the smaller
Shrine and is dedicated to the Goddess of Housing, Food and Clothing- Toyouke-o-mikami.
There are many festivals and ceremonies which take place as well, like, Kagurasai
Ceremony and this takes place in early part of April, then there is Miya River
Fireworks Festival which takes place in the middle of July. The Kagurasai Ceremony
takes place around the last part of September.
The other tourist attraction of Ise, Nagoya is Kawasaki Kaiwai. This place housed the old merchants quarters. This place still has old buildings. A lot of tourists and locals use this place for leisurely walk.
