Nittaiji Temple Nagoya

Japan - Fukuoka - Kobe - Nagoya - Tokyo - Osaka - Hiroshima - Kyoto - Yokohama -
This Nittaiji temple was originally built in the beginning of the twentieth century and was later rebuilt in the eighties. However the significance of the monument hasn't gone down a bit as the years have gone by.

This is because the Nagoya Nittaiji temple houses some of the mortal remains (bones) of the great Buddha Shakyamuni that was in Thailand only to be donated in small parts to this temple which has been housing them since then.

Some thing that you should watch out for is the inscription on the gold leaf tablet by a more recent monarch of Thailand to commemorate the rebuilding of the temple.
The Nittaiji temple compound is in a huge enclosure and it also accommodates a Gandala style Taiain Pagoda that is nearly fifteen meters long and has the relics of Buddha.

Nittaiji temple is one of the major attractions of Nagoya and should not be missed because not only is the place an important religious landmark it is also a beautiful institution by itself.
This place is an important destination for Buddhist from all over the world and mainly from the South East Asian countries especially since it was rebuilt during the eighties.
