If you have children in your group then one place where you should really try to visit and visit the Banshoji temple, because there are mechanical dolls in the temple that perform a drama. This performance is really enthralling and very appealing to the kids, one gets enough chance to see the dolls perform because regular performances are held between 10am to 6 pm everyday. The dolls are dressed up as samurais and they give a chance to the people to relive the history of the area as scenes are enacted accordingly. The show is free but it is definitely priceless. The construction of the temple was envisaged by Bansho-ji, somewhere in the middle of the sixteenth century while he was staying at the Furuwatari castle. Bansho- ji was a devout Buddhist and always wanted to build a temple and he was able to choose a site based on a kind of dejavu. With or without kids this temple is worth visiting if not for anything else but the puppet show that is definitely unique and novel. However it is worthwhile to check whether the show is on during the rains to avoid disappointment.
