Osaka has a long history of connecting the land and the sea. Located in the heartland of Kansai, Osaka treasures museums, parks and numerous gardens. Often this part of Kansai is termed as the life and energy. The night life is as interesting and amusing as the day in Osaka. You can escape in the uncharted terrains of Mino Koen Park which resides 30 minutes from the Hankyu Umeda Station on the Mino subway railway line, north of the Mino Station of Osaka. The Minoh Park is heaven for the natives of the Kansai region. This park was established in the year of 1871. This project was developed after nationalization of the region surrounding the mountainous area.

This area was developed as a public property maintained by the Japanese government. Japanese government is treading along the path of “sustainable development”. Preservation of the beauty of nature enjoys the topmost priority in the development agenda of the government. The construction of Takimichi was completed in the year 1886; which connects the waterfall and the temple. Small clusters of inns and shops provided in the Mino Koen Park of Osaka represents village like environment. There was also an animal farm or zoo in the periphery of this park, which was later transferred to the City of Takarazuka in the year 1916.

Numerous monuments and dedicated statutes of Hidetsugu Mori, Hideyo Noguchi and Rai Sanyo are found in this garden. Minoh Natural Zoo was inaugurated in the year of 1955. The wild monkeys of the zoo are popular throughout the Kansai region. This park was registered as the Meiji no Mori Quasi-National Park in the December of 1967. By the year of 1977, the zoo was abolished and the monkeys were scot-free. An insect museum was established in the year of 1953 with the incorporation of a “butterfly museum”. The Minoh Temple was founded in 652 by En no Gyoja who was a semi-legendary ascetic. This shrine was visited by famous Buddhist monks.

The significant deities of the temple are Nyoirin Kannon, which is a cultural asset, happens to be another form of Benzaiten form. One of the oldest and popular of the public lotteries of Japan is “tomikuji” or the fortune lottery. On the top of the hill resides the catacomb and statue of En no Gyoja.
