Owing to its growing popularity as an astounding tourist destination, the city of Tokyo has expanded its transport system. At present the domestic flights operate from the Haneda Airport in Tokyo. The increased number of flights and their frequency has made this airport one of the busiest airports in the world.

Located to the south of central Tokyo, this airport comprises of three terminals. Terminal 1 is used by the Japan Airlines, Terminal 2 by All Nippon Airways, and international terminal which is used by some minor international flights. Terminal 1 features restaurant, shopping complex and observation deck. The major airlines using this terminal are, Japan Airlines, Japan Transocean Air, Star Flyer and Skymark Airlines. Terminal 2 includes a roof-top restaurant and an extensive shopping area. The major airlines using this terminal are, Air Nippon Airways, Skynet Asia Airways and Air Do. The charter flights operating from Seoul Gimpo Airport use the International Terminal. The major airlines using this terminal are All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, Asiana Airlines and Korean Air.

The Haneda Airport has three runways - RW 16R/ 34L, RW 16L/ 34R AND RW 22/ 04. During the windy winter months, the RW 22 runway is used for landings and take-offs.


ACCESS TO HANEDA AIRPORT

The JR Yamanote Line takes the passengers to Hamamatsucho Station from Tokyo Station, and from there they can take the Tokyo Monorail to Haneda Airport. You can also avail the Keihin-Tohoku Line to Shinagawa Station, from where you can take the Keikyu Airport Line and reach Haneda Airport. Limousine bus service is also available from Tokyo Station.

There are two parking lots for private airlines and a special terminal exclusively for the VIP's. There are shopping arcades, boutiques, calling facilities, rest rooms, restaurants and cafes. The Haneda Airport remains open from 5 am to 11.30 pm. The important Meeting Points are clock towers 1-8 in Terminal 1, South and North Wings, and Tower of the Sun and Tower of the Moon. The clock towers 1-4 in Terminal 2 are the perfect places for meeting.
