Covered with ivy, this bathhouse is situated close to the Sensoji Temple. The hot spring bath is located on the left side of this temple. It is in fact one of the three bathhouses that have a genuine hot spring. The other two include the Rokuryu and the Azabu-Juban Onsen. The baths are fed by a hot spring located several feet under the ground. The waters are dissolved with a number of minerals and salts that help in curing many ailments. The waters are dissolved with sodium chloride, which is ideal for curing rheumatism and other nerve problems. The waters in the baths are usually maintained at a steady temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.
Besides soaking in the hot tub, the visitors can also check out the massage parlors found in this bathhouse. You can go for a relaxing body massage or a foot massage in these parlors. One can also go for the pressure point massages, or shiatsu massages over here. The masseurs over here use a number of herbal oils and other essential oils to massage your body.
The bathhouse is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and then entry fee is around 700 Yen. The rates however also depend on the type of treatment that you are going for. Both the young and the old visit this place regularly in order to pamper one's body.
When paying a visit to Asakusa Kannon Onsen, you can also check out the Sensoji Temple. This temple is one of the biggest attractions of the area and is located next to this bathhouse. It is one of the most ancient temples of Tokyo, built during the 7th century. It is a Buddhist temple, which is known for its unique architecture.
You can come to Asakusa Kannon Onsen by availing the train on the Asakusa Subway Line. The train can be boarded from the JR Ueno Station or JR Kanda Station. From the station it is only a few minutes walk to this bathhouse.
