The Sony Building was opened in Tokyo's Ginza in 1966 as an information base for Sony Group products and services, where guests could experience the leading wave of high technology. Since then the Sony Building has shared that technology with multitudes of visitors and become a Ginza landmark.

A place to enjoy the entire day, the Sony Building receives 5.6 million visitors a year to its showrooms, shops, restaurants and cafes, including dinner guests and those just meeting up with friends. The Sony Building offers six floors of showrooms and amusements, as well as restaurants and shops. The latest in Sony video and digital cameras, high-definition TVs, CD and other portable players, laptops, and computers are all on display for public inspection. On display are all the trend-setting electronics company's latest offerings and often a few prototypes as well.

The latest models of audio visual and computer products are yours to test out in this tall, slim, and eye-catching building. On the 6th floor, devoted solely to Play Station, there are giant screens where the games you requested can be played. The High-Vision Theater shows free movies every Saturday at 4.30pm.

Tech and game fans, this is the place to lose yourselves in the world of Sony products. Children will get a kick out of the musical staircase between 1F and B1F.

But there's a lot more to the Sony Building than Sony. Also on the premises are two of the finest restaurants in Tokyo, Sabatini di Firenze (3573-0013) on the 7th floor, and Maxim's de Paris (0120-55-6291) in the 3rd basement. Also AVIC, an electronics shop (B1 level, 3571-2614) where you can purchase the goodies you've been playing with upstairs, and Sony Plaza (B2 level, 3575-2525), outlet of all kinds of imported snacks and various other products.
