The Tokyo International Exhibition Center is a huge complex with a large number of halls where serves as a venue for a number of exhibitions and other events. It is more commonly known as the "Tokyo Big Sight:". The Tokyo International Exhibition center is the largest convention center of Japan. Built by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, it was opened in the year 1996 in the month of April. The entire structure has a floor space of 230000 square meters and can accommodate nearly 11.5 million people. The center consists of three major areas, which include the West hall, the East hall and the Conference Tower. Majority of the exhibition halls are located in the East and the West Hall. The Conference Tower is 8 stories high and has an underground parking lot. This tower has numerous conference rooms of different sizes. This hall has a total of six exhibition halls, which flank the galleria over here. Some of the exhibition halls found over here can also be converted into a single large exhibition space. The West Exhibition Hall is 2 stories high and has a total of 4 exhibition areas. There is also an outdoor and rooftop exhibition area over here, where a large number of events are held. This hall is usually used for smaller shows. One can find a large number of lounges and restaurants in the numerous parts of the Tokyo International Exhibition Center. You can try out the delicacies served in these restaurants. Guests are served Japanese, Continental, Chinese, Italian as well as Indian cuisines over here. West Hall: Atrium Lounge Conference Tower: Crystal Lounge, Ristorante Trevi, Italian bar & Café MAR, Café Restaurant New Tokyo, Apart from these, one can also pay a visit to the numerous cafes and restaurants found on the Restaurant Avenue Some of the major ones include Ramen Noodles Restaurant Daikei, Cafeteria Mermaid, Alpha Market, Hibiya Matsumotoro, Cafeteria Corner House and others. The convention center has all sorts of facilities that allow the events to be conducted in a proper manner. Some of the various facilities and services that one can find over here include a Business center, an Information Counter, ATM counter, smoking area, coin lockers, a massage parlor called Healing Island Spiro, convenience store, and others. Tourists can take a look at the numerous works of art displayed over here. There are a total of nine magnificent sculptures displayed over here, which are worth taking a look. Some of the most popular ones include the Colored Ball, Saw Sawing, Floating World Painting, Seven Springs, the Relatum and others. One can access the Tokyo International Exhibition Center is a 7 minutes walk from Kokusai-Tenjijo Station. You can take a Toei bus ride from Tokyo station to Tokyo Big sight or take an express bus from Yokohama station.
