It is built in the model of Eiffel tower but is 13 meters taller than it. It weighs about 4,000 tons while the Eiffel Tower weighs 7000 tons because of the progression of steel manufacturing and construction technology. The tower is painted in white and orange in accordance to the aviation safety regulations. Nearly 140 drums of paint were required to paint this mammoth tower. The tower is illumed by one hundred and seventy-six floodlights set up in diverse parts. The Tower is lighted with an orange light in winter and white incandescent light in summer, delighting the visitors and passers-by. Fourteen broadcasting signals for nine TV stations and five FM radio stations are transmitted from the Tower. Major Attractions in Tokyo Tower Visitors can go up to the main observatory at 150 meters and the special observatory at 250 meters to get a panoramic view of Tokyo. Under good weather conditions, Mount Fuji can be seen in the distance. A ride to the top floor, the special observatory, costs roughly 1500 Yen per adult.
